I could only imagine what a designer here thinks of me as an account manager, but I swear to GOD, IF YOU SIT ON AN ESCALATION GIVEN TO YOU BY THE SUPERVISORS AND TWIDDLE YOUR THUMBS, WHY DO YOU STILL WORK HERE?!
Seriously what part of "we need this site done ASAP! Get it done!" do some people NOT understand?!?! It fucking means to stop what you're doing and GET IT DONE. Not to let it sit for a week and let your account manager nag you so much you take sick leave for one and a half days. WTF?!?! Seriously, the project was not even mine to begin with; I should have never taken ownership of this. One of my sups asked me "That site? why are you still working on it? I thought [so-and-so] was the account manager."
*SIGH* I just want out of this fucking office. NOW.Ragnarok Terrorist Level: UGH! Current Music: My own angry thoughts

EDIT: I forgot to add. I believe tomorrow's my last day in the e-commerce tech support department. Admittedly, I had fun and learned a lot while in this department. While here, some of my coworkers still in the design services department came over and gave the rest of us some good news.
For one WE'RE NO LONGER CLIENT-FACING. Yaaaaaaaaaay! and Noooooooooo! at the same time. Yay because of how resistant clients have been to change and yet they want things their way and me to hold their hand the entire way. No for not being able to communicate with clients, good, bad or just plain unreasonable. I learned to better communicate over the phone just by doing it; I am not a phone person at all. I'm sure I will get to improve more as time goes on, and I know for a fact that a great deal of our clients like to communicate with the designers themselves and not middle men. I'm pretty sure our design services department is going the route of hiring/promoting people to be strictly account managers is because there's been ups and downs when it comes to project management and customer relations.
Even though we are to design sites within certain expectations, things got a bit unrealistic. A lot was left to the discretion of the designers in our teams, so there was a lot of "yes, we can do this for you" and a lot of "no, we don't do that". I can't forget my favorite customer response: "But the salesperson/designer told me I could have/do this!!! What am I paying $xxx.00 for?!" Mixed messages made for unhappy clients and frustrated designers. So now we have designated account managers who communicate with the clients and handle pretty much everything for them. I do believe clients still have to come up with their own content for their websites though.
A huge plus to coming back to my old department is new, improved, project management software created by a couple of talented guys in our department, one of whom will be collaborating with software engineers stationed in Virginia. I got to test the program before I moved, and I was already happy with the progress made. Now that it's officially up and running, I can't wait to get back to work. I did like fixing/redesigning e-commerce websites though. There's a reason the guys in E-Comm Design get paid more.
...I also notice that we host a lot of porn stores. One of my coworkers told me about how one of our clients, who owns a christian e-comm site, is also a customer of one of our porn e-comm sites. Six degress of perversion? lol!Ragnarok Terrorist Level: amused Current Music: Daft Punk - Alive 2007

I bought an album from the iTunes store called "French Attack!". It has some interesting songs. I posted a song on my Facebook, but here's another one. |

I took some photos last weekend after dropping my brother off at work. I've wanted to take photos of the buildings down there for a while, so here are a few of the images I've uploaded thus far. I took more than 40 photos, but I will try to put up as many quality images as I can. Here are some shots of objects: And some more nature pics: That's it for now. I have to finish correcting the rest before I upload them. Note: this entry is cross-linked here.

Except for coming home to an idiot parked in front of the driveway, which is where I normally park my car at night. Feeling rather salty, I park right behind the vehicle, a couple of inches away from the rear bumper. This effectively blocks it in, at least until the vehicle parked in front of it is moved.
Then I write whoever is driving the vehicle a polite note thanking him/her for being considerate of other people's parking space and stick it under his/her left windshield wiper. I go back into the house for another piece of paper and jot down his/her vehicle's make, model, and license plate number in case they decide to retaliate for me blocking him/her in.
Better news of the week: I bought a 22" wide screen flat panel for $200. One of my PC monitors decided to go out the week I was getting paid a bonus. The new monitor is very purty. @.@

| » Fuck it. It's almost time for a new one anyway. |
My car's in the shop, even though it's not supposed to be. Yesterday, my mom insisted we have some local mechanics take a look at my car. My sister has gone to the same shop and vouched that they do good work. Well, the manager was to call my mother when they were finished looking at the car so they could give me a quote. That didn't happen. As a matter of fact, the manager closed the shop never calling us to come pick up the car. I'm out of a car until Monday, but at least I don't have to go in to work until 11 AM next week.
I decided to go car shopping today. My grandpa picked me up, and we went to dealerships around north county - Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Saturn, and Mazda. My grandpa and I both agree that Toyota had the better deals. I looked at sporty models, and they're all really cute. But obviously I want to be practical - I want a car that I both enjoy and afford, including insurance coverage.
The guys at Mazda were trying to push me into getting a RX-8. Beautiful car, but obviously out of my price range (and not road-trip-friendly). I told the agent I'm not looking for anything more than 25k dollars. "Oh, I can get you in one for $25k." My grandpa frowned upon that statement immediately; I could feel him being annoyed. I don't want to be PUT into anything I don't choose for myself. I don't mind being shown around, but I know when I'm being targeted toward a specific purchase. We only thoroughly looked at the Mazda 3 and left. There wasn't much to see at Mazda.
I'm more than satisfied with what I saw overall. Now I just have to choose what I want and continue saving until I have enough for sales tax and my first payment of insurance. I'm leaning between Toyota and Nissan. Honda had a Civic SI that was really sharp and could be ordered in my color. The price was surprisingly good too, but I don't need as much power even though I like sport cars. The same can be said for the Nissan Altima coupe I had my eye on. It's a beautiful car; the dealer told me he could have one ordered in my color and with manual transmission.
*sigh* So many flavors, so little time. I'm just hoping the Escort can hold out until around my birthday. By then I should have enough to make to a purchase and not regret it.
